At its core, the primary function of a conveyor belt compound is to protect the carcass, which is the foundation of belt performance and durability. The formulations used in compounds—including skim and cable rubber—play a critical role in delivering strong adhesion and flexibility, enabling the belt to handle the continuous dynamic stresses of the conveyor system.

To perform effectively, the cover compound must be of adequate quality and thickness to endure a wide range of operational and environmental challenges. Choosing the right compound ensures extended belt life, reduced maintenance, and optimal system performance.
